This project was dedicated to those 18-25 year olds who find themselves in limbo between education, training and employment. We ran practical sessions building skills in sewing, textiles, arts and crafts. The project had an emphasis on trying out new techniques and ideas within a supportive atmosphere.
We worked with artists, pattern designers, sewers, graphic designers and business trainers.
Anyone aged between 18-25, interested in developing new skills was able to join without needing previous experience. The group sizes were small so that we could foster a super friendly supportive atmosphere.
Participants led this project and were able to determine the specific skills they wanted to develop.
Participants now attend a peer group see our page Young Adults at The Shed.
We are grateful to Dorset Community Foundation and Dorset Council for funding this project.
